Service every Sunday at 11.00

Marketenderiet · Kirsten Walthers Vej 5 · 2500 Valby, Copenhagen

Live English interpretation on headsets · kids' church at the same time

Welcome home

At Openchurch, church means a community of people exploring life together. And we don't think there's a better place to explore life than with God, who made it.

Single or married, with children or without, young or old, studying, employed or self-employed — there is plenty of room for you here. And a good chance you'll meet people much like you.

Our services are contemporary: songs and preaching in language you can actually follow. We always look forward to saying hello, whether it's your first time or your five-hundredth.

During the week there are social and cultural events too, plus plenty going on for children and adults alike.

Services you won't want to leave

The service is for the whole family. We open the doors at Marketenderiet in Valby for contemporary music, preaching in plain language, and time together around faith in Jesus. We interpret live into English on headsets, and kids' church runs at the same time.

Children and youth

Children, teens and young adults at Openchurch

On Sundays there's church for children of every age, running alongside the service. During the week there are clubs and groups: OC Kids for ages 1–10, OC Teens for ages 10–15 every Wednesday, and OC Ung for ages 16–30. Every volunteer working with children and young people holds a Danish child protection certificate.

Grow in faith alongside other people

Nobody becomes part of a church on a Sunday. It happens in someone's living room, with ten people, over time. An OC Group is a handful of people who meet to eat, talk, read a little of the Bible and pray for each other. This is where people discover they are not on their own.

Our story

When everything shut down, we opened a drive-in

Openchurch Copenhagen was barely six months old when Covid hit. That same night Thomas woke at 2 a.m. with a clear picture of a drive-in church. A week later it was up and running. Pictures of the drive-in church turned up in media from Australia to America — the New York Times among them — and the story was shared in more than 40 countries.
