You're welcome here — even if you've never set foot in a church
Openchurch is an open, relaxed community where faith in God is allowed to be honest and alive. You don't need an invitation, and you don't need to know anything beforehand.
When you arrive, our welcome team will be there to meet you.

So what actually happens?
A typical service lasts about 75 minutes. Sit at the back, arrive late, leave early — all of it is fine.
Music with a pulse
Our worship is modern, energetic and present. Sing along, close your eyes, or just listen — whatever feels right to you.
Something to take into the week
Our talks aren't dusty theory. They're about real life — including the bit where you're standing in the supermarket on a Monday afternoon.
Room to stay a while
After the service we roll out the coffee cart. Stay if you'd like to. Leave if you wouldn't. Both are completely fine.

There's something here for your child
At Openchurch children aren't just tolerated — they're at the heart of it. While the adults are in the service, the children have their own thing going in OC Kids: play, creative activities and Bible stories told at their level.
Every volunteer who works with our children and young people holds a Danish child protection certificate. You can relax.

Everything runs alongside the Sunday service, and during the week there are clubs and groups.
OC Kids
ages 1–10
Kids' church every Sunday at 11.00. Play, songs and Bible stories at their level.
OC Teens
ages 10–15
Wednesdays 18.30–20.30 at Marketenderiet. Teen Chill, Teen Crazy and Teen Praise.
OC Ung
ages 16–30
Friendship, cake and faith with other young people your own age.
OC International
In English
Live translation on Sundays, plus midweek and after-service meet-ups.

Step 1
New to faith
Maybe faith is completely new to you — or maybe you just sense a longing for something more. The good news is that God, out of love, sent Jesus, so that you can receive life with him, whatever you're carrying. Saying yes to Jesus is the beginning of a whole new life as God's child.
Would you like to take that step — or just find out more first? We'll gladly walk the first stretch with you.
Baptism
Have you said yes to Jesus and want to mark it? We baptise by full immersion on your own confession of faith — a strong step that says publicly that you belong to him. If you'd like to be baptised, we'll have a conversation with you first.
Step 2
New to the church
Already a believer, but new to Openchurch? Church is family — an extended one, where we share life, eat together, pray together and have fun together. You're not a guest here; you're finding somewhere to belong.
Find community in a group, and join a team where you can put your gifts to use. Being part of Openchurch means being part of the family and part of a team.

The green streets on the map are free parking. The red street and the marked bays are paid. Always check the signs and EasyPark.

Valby Station — about a 10-minute walk.

Questions
The questions people usually ask
Do I need an invitation?
No. Everyone is welcome, you included. Church isn't a closed club — it's a community of people looking for God and for life together.
Is there a dress code?
No. You'll see everything from t-shirts to shirts — and probably somebody in shorts. Come as you are.
How long does a service last?
About 75 minutes, from 11.00 until roughly 12.15. Plenty of people stay on afterwards for coffee. You're just as welcome to leave.
What if I'm late?
Then you're late. That's completely fine. Come in, find a seat, and join from there.
Am I expected to give money?
No. There's no membership fee, and nothing to pay to turn up. Openchurch is carried by people who choose to give — but that isn't something for you to think about as a guest.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. The children have their own programme in OC Kids during the service, and every volunteer working with them holds a Danish child protection certificate.
I don't understand Danish — can I still come?
Yes. We do live translation into English via headset every Sunday. Just ask at the welcome desk.
