God wants something FOR us, not from us
Everything we have comes from God. When we give back to him, it isn't about what God wants from us, but about what he wants for us. Through our giving we become part of something bigger — we get to take part in what God is doing in the world. Your generosity isn't only an investment in God's mission; it's also a way of growing in your trust in him. The mark you leave on the world is tied directly to your generosity. Giving is an invitation to see how God can change your life through it.
It has been said that “you can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.” We all give to what we love, and Jesus put it plainly: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” God is after your heart, and he wants freedom for you — the kind of freedom that only comes when we let go of control over our finances and let God into that part of our lives. When we take that step, freedom, security and joy follow a decision to trust God with everything we have. It's in that surrender that real change happens, because God wants something for us, not from us.
The Bible teaches that everything belongs to God, and that we are called to be stewards of the resources he has entrusted to us: “The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalm 24:1.
From the beginning, God's intention was that we would work with him and steward what he has made. God's generosity knows no limits — as we see in John 3:16, where God gave his own Son for us. The same intention holds today: God creates and gives generously, and as followers of Jesus we are called to steward his gifts and pass them on as a natural part of our discipleship.

I love Openchurch — the community, the faith, and everything God is doing through us.
Even on a student grant, I've decided to make giving a priority — the same way I make a good cup of coffee a priority.
Because I know that when I give, I'm part of making change happen — planting churches, supporting mission, and seeing people meet Jesus.
Everything I have comes from God, and giving back reminds me that he is the one who provides for me.

When you contribute, you take the first step into God's mission. When you carry it with us, you make it part of how you live. And when you live with an open heart and a generosity that goes beyond the ordinary, you become a blessing to yourself and to others.
At Openchurch we see giving as an expression of our love for God and for his church. As with the “poor widow” in Luke 21:2, it isn't the size of the amount that matters, but the intention of the heart and the willingness to give from what we've received from God. We give because we have been blessed, and we want to pass that blessing on.
Openchurch is something we build together
We are grateful to stand together as a community that practises generosity and contributes what it can. Openchurch is made up of many people, each bringing their gifts and their time to strengthen the whole. We have no membership fee and receive no support from the Danish church tax — instead we are carried by generous people who share our vision of inspiring others to experience God and follow Jesus.
This church is built on both volunteer effort and financial giving from people who want to be part of the journey. Most of our members serve on at least one of the church's many teams, and their commitment is what makes the work possible.
